Off to look at kitchens this weekend – we need to pick one we like and go for it. The house is really coming together now – bathrooms and central heating going in, but there’s still loads to do – the whole lot needs decorating. It’s going to be a busy month!
Simon Cowell's admitted he doesn't like Will Young - and says he wanted Gareth Gates to win Pop Idol. He makes the comments in a show marking the 10th anniversary of the show's final. Simon calls Will "obnoxious" and says he still can't watch the final back because he's so disappointed at the result. Oh get over it, Simon!
David Cameron thinks the new film, The Iron Lady, shouldn't have been made yet. The film has been criticised for portraying the former prime minister, Margaret Thatcher, as a senile old woman suffering from dementia. The PM says he thinks the film is more about the effects of ageing rather than showing an amazing leader.
It's claimed the three original members of the Sugababes are recording new material together. Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy are rumoured to have met up, and decided to reform and record a new album. It comes as the current Sugababes line-up is taking a break. So what will the group be called? The Old Sugababes, The Original Sugababes?
Proving you have to be famous for no more than being kicked off the X-Factor for doing naughty stuff, Frankie Cocozza is back on telly in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother just weeks after being kicked off the X Factor. Another good reason for me to avoid it. Let’s be honest – the show’s so bad even Channel 4 don’t want to make it anymore!
BIRTHDAYS
Rowan Atkinson (57)
Kathy Sledge of Sister Sledge (53)
Nigella Lawson, sultry TV chef (52)
ON THIS DAY
Woolworths ceased trading this day 2009 (so where do you get your pick n mix from these days?)
Ian is the man you hear on Oak FM's Afternoon show - Monday to Friday 2-6pm, Saturday Lunchtime 12-3pm
He began his radio career just yards from the place he was born, presenting a weekly hospital radio show to the patients of George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton. Here he first met the legend that is Mark Rowley and 20 years on, still can't get rid of him!
Away from the crazy world of radio, Ian can be found attempting DIY on his house or in a bookshop avoiding DIY! It has been said that you can leave Ian in a bookshop in the morning and he’ll still be there with his head happily buried in a book when the staff are ready to lock up and go home!
His loves include his wife Hazel, reading (obviously), spicy curries and classic comedies. On occasions, when the weather’s not too bad, Ian can be spotted out on his bike in the area trying to get fit.
